On a sunny afternoon in Miami, the idea was born. It started where all great startups begin - Starbucks. The goal: create a software so easy and intuitive that virtually no training or support was needed. Little did we know, but those goals carried and shaped us to who we are today. The original idea was to create an all-in-one business management software for all professions and industries.
Out of the garage. Into an office.
Moved into our first office with a small team and big ambitions in Miami, Florida. This became home to many sleepless nights, tons of caffeine, thousands of iterations, and countless usability tests. We relentlessly worked 15 hours every day, night, and weekend to release what was to become our first minimum viable product.
Launched into beta with our MVP.
This was a very special month for us. After months of hard work, writing thousands of lines of code, we finally released our first minimum viable product into the market in our beta phase. We received our first raving fans that helped shape who we are today. These early adopters and innovators gave us a lot of hope, and a lot of changes. So went back to the drawing board and kept innovating.
Pivot to law practice management software.
By this time we realized a major pivot had to happen. As the two partners wives were both attorneys and 1/3rd of their existing customers happened to be lawyers (an early SEO strategy that paid off well), we pivoted and began focusing on our core group of fans – lawyers. This move paid off well as it led to the release and major success of PracticePanther.
PracticePanther launches into beta
As we were originally a business CRM software with over 18 months of development already under our belt, being different then every other practice management software was easy because that wasn’t our original intention. With innovative features no one else had, we already had a great competitive advantage, and it caught fire almost instantly as soon as we launched into beta. These were very happy days indeed!

We wanted more feedback, and we wanted it FAST. We knew we had a big battle against some of the more established players. We wanted to be easier to use. We wanted to offer features to automate your firm and improve efficiency, not slow it down. So we opened the gates to thousands of new attorneys by offering a 6 month free trial in exchange for valuable feedback. We listened to our customers and it paid off!
PracticePanther raises $3.5M.
With tens of thousands of attorneys now using the software in over 25 countries, it was time to raise capital and take PracticePanther to the next level. Led by our CTO, Ori Tamuz, and backed by private investors, the funding round solidified PracticePanther as a top 3 contender here to stay for many years to come. PracticePanther goes global with a translation engine.
To help fuel the international demand for a top of the line case management software, we built a translation engine to support any language worldwide. Upon launch, 6 new languages were made available for Spanish, French, Italian, Russian, Dutch & German. The software will automatically switch to the language and currency based on IP address. Version 2.0 released with new UI.
We finished 2016 with a 97% satisfaction rating. With thousands of attorneys now in over 35 countries, and over 6 languages translated, PracticePanther needed a well-deserved UI update to support the new international attorneys. We revamped the entire user interface to make it even more user friendly, intuitive, and easier to use. The colors are simplified, and the pages are easier to navigate.
