Women in the Law Profession

It’s undeniable that the last century has seen massive progress for the representation of women in the legal profession. When measured up against the beginnings of legal education in what became the United States, the current standing of women in law seems exponentially progressive. This progress, although undeniable, has been comprised of innumerable small steps by countless brave and brilliant women. However, it would be remiss not to acknowledge the exponential growth still to come until the day when women achieve full equity as professionals in the legal field. In a world where just over a third of attorneys are women, and where almost three-quarters of judges are men, there is not an imbalance of legal brilliance or talent–there is simply an imbalance of opportunity.

PracticePanther envisions a future wherein women are in positions of power in the legal field as often as men and is compensated equally, not twenty percent less when they are. With the acknowledgment that there is still work to be done comes the empowerment travel that road. PracticePanther intends to be there every step of the way, and since seeing is believing, we’ve created this infographic to help you visualize just how many steps are still ahead.
